Rasheed Posts Impressive Fundraising Numbers, Has Highest Number of DC-Based Donors in Ward 7 Race
WASHINGTON, D.C. (22 December 2023) – Veda Rasheed's campaign for the DC Council, Ward 7, has posted impressive numbers for the end-of-year filing.
In a strong show of grassroots support, the Rasheed campaign's December filing shows a total of $19,820 raised from an impressive 423 individual donors; 83% of these donors are residents of DC. As of the last filing date, Rasheed has 351 DC-based donors, the most of any candidate in the Ward 7 Councilmember race. She was also the first candidate to qualify for the city's Fair Elections Program.
These fundraising numbers are a clear indication of Rasheed's grassroots support and enduring relationships with residents across Ward 7.
"Our campaign could not have achieved this without the support of the community I've spent my whole life in," said Rasheed. "This campaign is about my friends, neighbors, family, and all the residents of Ward 7 who believe in the future of our community. I am humbled by their support and will continue to listen and learn from my neighbors to help build a Ward 7 that works for everyone."
This recent filing shows a continuation of momentum as Rasheed’s campaign continues to gain traction in the lead-up to the election. Rasheed's focus on public safety, education, infrastructure, and creating an environment for all Ward 7 residents to thrive has resonated deeply with the community.
